The Iveys – Maybe Tomorrow

In love with this song.

Renamed Badfinger when they signed on with the Apple label, they were heralded as the successors to the Beatles (who set up the label). Unfortunately, it seems the band was exposed to the worst elements in the music industry, resulting in the band never realising their full potential.

Pete Ham (the tall bloke) committed suicide in 1975 and wrote the great “Without You”, popularized by Air Supply and Mariah Carey. Tom Evans (the singer in this video) killed himself in 1983, probably as a result of being unable still to come to terms with Ham’s death.

Stan Polley was the group’s manager. He is attributed with screwing the band over and was convicted of some white collar crimes – money laundering, embezzlement. Ham’s suicide note included a goodbye to his wife, his stepson and a final note claiming Polley as a “soulless bastard”.

Where did all the rock stars go?

Jason Mraz – I’m Yours

Anna Nalick – Breathe (2am)
