February 24, 2010 Microwaved
I recently had a discussion with Mrs. Eshin and her uncle regarding microwave ovens. She’s convinced the damned things are harmful when they’re busy superheating water molecules in our food. Her uncle, a wise gentlemen of electrical technical engineering experience, confirmed this but said that he wasn’t sure about the microwave ovens as he didn’t know how well the protection plate at the front of the oven insulated against harmful rays.
Of course, I scoffed at this notion. Given the millions upon millions of microwaves sold in the world, surely they would be made safe. The US government, no less, would have had a field day with the FDA infractions if it was an unsafe technology.
Mrs. Eshin’s uncle did remind of something one of my old teachers mentioned – you should remember who is telling you something to evaluate its trustworthiness.
Here’s a little known fact – Percy Spencer, who invented the microwave oven, worked for Raytheon at the time. Raytheon is a major American defense contractor that works tightly with the government.
You be the judge.

i could be bias if i said i support Mrs Eshin..haha…However, given my technical background, i do agree that the frequent use of dat machine does cause harm to us, given the amount of electrical waves dat is generated in the course of usage.
As a consumer, we r thankful hw useful dat mchn is and contributes to us when necessary.. but on the technical aspect,we also do knw for sure the harm dat it can cause. Many things (cos i wun say everything) is a giv n tak situation. There is always 2 sides present, depending on which you are willing/able to accept. Some truth can be dark ya?

For a little bit of perspective, how long does a microwave operate when it does and how far you can be from those waves compared to let’s say talking on a mobile phone pressed against your head for an hour, or carrying it in your trousers the whole day next to you know what..
This sounds pretty convincing:

But of course if someone is to suggest there’s a conspiracy involved then these reassurances would have to be convincing

Maybe it´s harmful to our life, but we can´t leave it when we want to eat immediately, and Mrs. Eshin is the one who loved to eat.
I think she is a pit over careful with these little things.
The most important is enjoy our lifes, right??
May you happy everyday!

A research had been done years back by a Taiwanese doctor and the ray is indeed harmful, just imagine we eating them into our stomach. Use oven instead of mircowave if possible.

All those microwaves in your homes have been tested by the Singapore government for compliance and safety. Are you saying the Singapore government didn’t really check to make sure it’s safe or are you saying that it is knowingly allowing its citizens to use unsafe household and cooking equipment?

Too much of anything is nv good…tested compliance and safe for sure simply means the machine is safe to operate.
That however does not mean that using it too much will not cause harmful to human bodies. Everyone knows that smoking is bad for the body as well. Does that means all governments should have stop selling them? I dont think so that is happening in the world.
The invention of machines in the world simply enhance human being lifestyles for some reasons, that however does not guarantee 100% safety.
Its all about making your own choice @ your own risk
