Apparently Mr. Franklin had a set of 13 virtues he lived by and tracked these with a chart to ensure he lived by them each day. What is interesting is that it tracks where you fail rather than ticking what you did right – I sort of like that idea because it's easier to "tick the box" rather than know where you've failed.
