Finally, a proper butcher in Singapore.

I found my heaven at the Swiss Butchery at Greenwood. This place looks, smells and behaves like a proper butcher in that it seems you can get most cuts of meat and probably then some if you request it. I was bemoaning the absence of being able to get good veal liver in Singapore to the better half1, when low I enter into an establishment that sells the damned stuff.

Seriously, the Swiss Butcher can’t be beat for probably the largest selection of meat2 and it’s enough to make a meat lover fall to his knees and offer enough praise be’s to last him till Sunday roast. Okay, you have Espirito Santo3 but the selection is rather lacking compared to our dear friends the Swiss.

Cool stickers too as they give you the instruction on how to damn food too. This from a lamb mini-roast:

  1. It forms an important Dutch dish… okay so it really is just pan-fried liver but the ma makes it perfectly. []
  2. Yes, yes, infantile minds might see the amusement in beating any form of meat. Hor hor. []
  3. Espirito Santo is probably where you do want to fall down in genuflection. []
