One wonders what untoward events have strayed our dear fellow blogger Fumier to launch a near continuous assault of snide comments against the Dutch in his blog posts. One suspects it might have been money as it inevitably revolves around doing business with them¹.

To quote Fumier,

“To give them their due, a lot of the Dutch are well aware of their reputation and will poke fun at themselves even as you pick up the tab.”

Yes, indeed. It’s how we became a major trading power to rival the British although in our defense we probably didn’t screw over our colonies as much as our friends across the water. This is probably why the Dutch weren’t kicked out of Japan when they closed their borders.².

Anyway, amusing as Fumier is, we really can’t abide by having links on this blog that rather indiscriminately label all Kaaskops in the insulting light that he paints us in. It’s rather unsporting and I do consider myself a somewhat nationalist in that regard.
