September 21, 2008 Solo Movies
I haven’t done this in a long time but with the better half away, I might as well have make use of the time to see some films I want to see in their full cinematic format. I used to do this quite a bit when I was in Amsterdam although being there only six months meant that I had few friends over the weekend at that stage in my life. Nowadays, it isn’t so much of a problem but it is nice to do things by yourself once in a while.
I ended up seeing Bangkok Dangerous with Nicholas Cage playing the end-of-his-steam hitman choosing Bangkok as his swan song. Full review later but in general I thought it was entertaining. I thought I might have to do a post on annoying girlfriends that won’t shut up during a film as the first fifteen minutes were marred by the couple next to me for that reason. Thankfully, the guy had some balls and actually told his girlfriend to shut her trap. Quite loudly in fact. I think he was getting annoyed too by her incessant, “Why’s he there?” and “What’s he doing?” and “Why did he do that?”.
Brave and courageous, but I hope he’s got some patience when he gets home tonight.

Your post reminded me of my personal incidents. Yeah, I do watch movies alone and I do have my fair share of couple beside talking, showing PDAs and such… Irritating ain’t it?
