Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra

Ended up going to a jazz thing on Saturday at the Fringe Club. Not really my cup of tea, but then a little culture never did anyone any harm. Actually, it wasn’t all that bad and they were doing big bandish sort of stuff from Ellington and had also through some swing into the mix. I don’t think my two friends were into it as much as I was in the end since my folks used to play this sort of music when I was younger. They probably still do.

Figured out a couple of things:

1. I prefer modern jazz.
2. Jazz gigs/the Fringe Club is a great place to meet bohemian-style hot chicks.

The last one only really applies if you are looking which explains why my friend hangs out there quite often.

Anyway, check out the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra at the Fringe Club, every last Saturday of the month.

Thanks for coming to our show, man!

Yes, modern jazz is my taste too when I play combo style. Big band is another world, we play the tunes we got from Jazz at Lincoln Center which is directed by Wynton Marsalis.

Although I did not dig too much about big band jazz initially , I started thinking, yes, old is new.

Have a fun, check it out again.
