September 28, 2005 Ajax Relocated
It was funny watching the Champion’s League match between Ajax and Arsenal last night. Not being a great fan of football, I do occassionally watch it. Given my limited knowledge of the players, combined with a commentary in Cantonese, I found it somewhat amusing that there seemed to be more “Dutch” players in the Manchester United team than, say, the Amsterdam team Ajax.
I say this because I had trouble prounouncing half the flipping names in what is supposed to be a Dutch side.

Yeah, that’s modern football for you. I think it was something like a third of players in the premier league fixtures a few weekends ago were English. Not that I care, as a lot of the imports are better than any of the crap English players knocking around elsewhere.
On the subject of Ajax, I watched them a few weeks ago and they were destroyed by AK, I think. They were truly awful – they only have one good player, Schneijder I think his name is. So sad how a once great club has fallen away because of the money floating around in other leagues.
Not that you really care, but I’m bored…

Hi Eshin, I am not very sure if we had spoken to each other before but I saw your name on my ICQ.
To give a comment on this blog, yes.. I reckon more Dutch are playin’ for Red Devil.. from the last time I saw the team arrived at the airport, I was surprised to see van der Sar as well. I honestly haven’t watched soccer for ages, not even knownin’ Edwin joined the red but since Jordi Cryuff, Japp Stam to now van Nistelrooy & van der Ser. As for my own interest to Dutch football, I only watch them when they have national games which is more interesting and exciting.
I can see that you have a pretty neat blog here divided by different part like travel, books and movies revies.. etc! i have quite a few sites handlin my reviews and diaries. i guess i will need one site to combine them all together one day.
groetjes, k

Yep, it’s another sign that money seems to reign king. We won the war… but so did capitalism…
Hi Kamen… I remember you… you’re Chinese Dutch, aren’t you?
