Water Shortage
Logging into MSN, you notice how much people hate the rain. They put those cutesy messages in their display names telling the world about their hatred of it. Funny thing is, two months ago when you drove past the Tai Tam reservoir you would have been shocked at how low it was. Hong Kong, along with the rest of the world, is facing a water crisis.
So don’t think this monsoon downpour has made problem go away. It’s still a very real crisis. Things you can do to help alleviate it:
- 1. Take showers.
- 2. Switch off the shower while lathering yourself up.
- 3. Take fewer showers and baths where possible.
- 4. Eight glasses a day people! But remember you still get liquids from other sources.
- 5. Switch off the tap when brushing your teeth.
- 6. Consume less beverages - sodas, juices, coffee and alcohol all come from water.
Not an exhaustive list but somethings that if we all practice a little each day WILL make a difference. Eshin’s not going tree-hugger on you but sheez, we are going to be properly screwed in 50 years time. Perhaps even in 25 years.
