Alice in Chains

Last night chatting on MSN with Kipper, I was wondering which literary classic or iconic story would be next butchered by Hollywood’s magic wand. Oh, if WotW wasn’t enough with love-demented Cruise, brace yourselves for yet another “modern interpretation” of works that probably should be left alone by Executive Producers.

Buffy, a.k.a. Michelle Sarah Gellar, will be playing in an Alice in Wonderland gone bad according to the BBC. The storyline is based more on a video game interpretation of the book, which leads us to wonder how this third-hand creativity will play out with a dwindling TV star as the lead. Let’s face it, as Buffy she was hardly eye-candy, and her pouty, brooding, “I’m so bad” acting skills were always upstaged by Alyson Hannigan, Eliza Dushku and Michael Borneaz.

Of course, I’m being faecetious. Sin City was a marvelous bit of adaptation of an iconic literary piece. But then we had hard-men Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke to see us through to the points when delectable Jessica Alba graced the screen. Biased? I think so…
