November 4, 2004 Four More Years of Darkness
Four more years of George W. Bush, it would seem.
The loathing I feel for that man is beyond belief.
Let’s hope in four years, America will have woken up to the consequences of voting in Dubya to the White House for a second term. It seems they feel more secure with good ol’George calling the shots in his so-called war against terrorism. Unfortunately, I suspect for many militants, George W. is as much an excuse to hate America as any other. No doubt one man’s vision to forge the world into his liking will come at the expense of innocents around the world.
This pundit makes no apology for his anti-Bush stance. It is a sad day for the world since now we have one mad man who is still running loose out there running a global terror network, while the other one still hasn’t been captured from his cave in Afghanistan. Bin Laden and Bush should share the same hole in purgatory with the devil.
The only silver lining in this is that the war on terror will become an increasingly American endeavour. Only one song seems apt for this sad moment… lyrics reproduced in full here because it just seems appropriate.
American Idiot by Green Day
Don’t wanna be an American idiot.
Don’t want a nation under the new mania.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindfuck America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Everything isn’t meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We’re not the ones who’re meant to follow.
For that’s enough to argue.
Well maybe I’m the faggot America.
I’m not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along in the age of paranoia.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Everything isn’t meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We’re not the ones who’re meant to follow.
For that’s enough to argue.
Don’t wanna be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It’s calling out to idiot America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alienation.
Everything isn’t meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We’re not the ones who’re meant to follow.
For that’s enough to argue.
