October 7, 2004 Bash Bush Bash Bush
Did anyone watch the Letterman show last night on ATV? In an interview with Bill O’Reilly, Letterman seemed to deviate from his usual light-hearted, tongue in cheek political commentary to make scalding attack on Bush and support Kerry.
Can’t find the exact transcript from the show (read haven’t bothered looking it up extensively) but…
Letterman said something like…
“One has to take into consideration that there is a difference between choosing to serve your country in a time of war either in the National Reserve Air Guard and going to Vietnam. Twice. Being there at all should enough to earn you the gratitude of your nation.”
Damn right.
Incidentally, if you want to vote in a US election of sorts, visit The US Presidential Election for the Rest of the World and help out our confused American friends.

I think it might all be a little far-fetched. Kerry might have been ready to say something. It’s been known for the debaters to get a little excited and cut into their opponent’s point.
As for the second one, I think it’s stretching it a little (excuse the pun).
To be honest, we don’t really need to grasp at these conspiracy theories. Bush’s own words and stupidity should shine out enough on their own merits (or “demerits”) for themselves for him to lose the election. But then we have to rely on the US electorate to deliver this verdict, which is slightly worrying…
