What happened there? Up one goal for England during much of the match, only to have it all equalized at the end by Portugal. Bloody robbed of a goal in the dying minutes of the second half. Stupid referee disallowed it for some imaginary reason.
Extra time saw the Portugese take the lead in the second half, while our boys fought valiantly to stay in the game with another goal. It’s a shame it all came to penalties. That was also taken to the wire with Portugal winning 6-5 on penalties. Bloody cheek of the Portugese goal keeper to take the last penalty.
Oh well, it leaves no potential conflict of interest if the Netherlands get through to the semi-finals. Still it’s little consolation.
