May 14, 2004 Professional Gigalo
I was chatting jokingly with my friend Elsa today about part-time work and I helpfully told her that I could become a gigalo. To which she asked me how much, and I asked her, since she works in events management, how much Andy Lau would be for a private party. She skeptically asked whether we were on the same level.
And it’s sort of ironic though, but I explained to her that if I would be a gigalo I’d be a professional. Not a singer or actor that would be a part-time gigalo. Before Andy whips out his lawyers, I’m not insinuating anything, but I’m working on the basis that I’m equally as appealing as Andy and that some singers and actors/actresses do dabble in the spank and tickle. So if it was my profession, I’m presuming I could command more. I mean, you’d pay a professional photographer a lot more money than an amateur photographer, wouldn’t you?
So based on my calculations, my debut in the world of professional gigolo’s will be 2.5 million HK for an hour of my time. Another irony is that sometimes hookers get more money per hour than most white-collar schmucks will in the entirety of their career. So who exactly is the one that is getting screwed? Food for thought.
