April 9, 2004 Daily Kos, Li Liwei, and Brimworld
This week there are only three blogs of note – Li Liwei, Brimworld and The Daily Kos.
I can’t work out if Li Liwei’s site is a new blog or just a newly designed blog. Anyway, it was brought to the attention of the site owner’s boyfriend, Giles at Misohoni. It’s getting off the ground by the looks of things, but the nice clean graphics and layout of the site will make it a site worth keeping an eye on.
Brimworld is back online after what I believe was a two year hiatus. It also appears newly designed and not populated with a lot of information and content yet. But from the last installment of Brimworld, I can assure you that there will be some worthwhile content up there. My mate, who runs the site, has his background in designing so the website will no doubt get itself designed all arty like, while he’s got a passion for cooking and eating, so the Gastro Guide might be the one thing to keep you going to this site.
The Daily Kos provides political analysis and liberal critique of the US policies. It came to my attention when the author commented on the mercenaries that were killed in Iraq. It would appear that that particular post annoyed Conrad (rumour has it that he’s actually called William) over at Gweilo Diaries, so that of course made it a must read article.
Wires, although a good site, will be removed from the Picks list and the Worth-a-Look section since it doesn’t appear to be updated all that frequently any more, and I believe the author’s original assignment to Iraq has ended making it somewhat less interesting.
