Last week, Brenda suggested that we hadn’t been out for a while to dance, so she suggested Carnegies, which has a certain significance for the group of friends that were going there. I think we all met each other for the first time in Carnegies there (except for my dive buddy, my ex-colleague and my old college buddy). So to Carnegies we went after my third dinner on a Friday night in a row at Kublai’s. Gotta love that all you can eat principle and I can gorge myself of lamb to my heart’s content without it costing more.

Anyway, I sorta remembered why I don’t like Wan Chai at all. Just having a window seat in Kublai’s gives you a view of probably the most seediest corner on the Island. Full of cheap hookers and old school expats/tourists who are behaving badly. I mean, some white guy comes stumbling out of a bar and bumps into a passerby and falls over. His mate then starts shouting at the passerby as if it was his fault. Go figure!

I’m sure I’m being racist but I’m sure I’ve never seen foreigners behave so badly in the UK. They’d get a right royal beating if they did.

Anyway, once we got to Carnegies, didn’t really have to worry about the trash that was outside in the rest of Wan Chai. Ended up dancing quite a bit since I was on a natural high. The music was great too and it’s unfortunate that I have to travel to Wan Chai to get that sort of music. Did manage to get up on the bar and dance with three lovely ladies (borrowed girlfriends!). Apparently Ora and Amy snogged again!

Since el Revez and Eyal weren’t really into the music, we decided to try for Klong which at 0210 was surprisingly empty. A quick stop off in Venue (too crowded and same music as Carnegies) and DTD (packed with plenty ‘o cocks and cunts), we decided to hit D’Apartment in LKF. Of course, we lost Brenda and Gottfried on the way which was surprising since she was the one that wanted an action packed night.

Ended up in D’Apartment which was also pretty dead. I don’t think it was a very busy Friday night out on the Island. We took up the chill-out room and we got a whole dance floor to ourselves to dance. We had some problems with two Australian blokes who kept harassing us and spoiled the end of what was a great night out. It all resulted in my favourite word at the moment – a kerfuffle. Anyway, I got a few cuts from some glass that was lying around which were tended to by Amy and Ora. After the adrenaline had died down, and I’d disinfected all my cuts, I finally managed to get to bed at 6. Which was a pain because I needed to be up by 12 to meet Sharon for lunch.
