Eshin Direct

Last night I had dinner with two lovely ladies, Sharon and Helena, who proved that they are as funny as they are beautiful. (Okay, I know they said they’d make an appearance reading this site today, boosting my readership to an audience of 4!). Anyway, we ended up in the place in Staunton Street that I’ve somehow never noticed before called Al Dente (of course, you are all cultured enough to know that al dente means something like “by the teeth” in Italian which means the pasta is boiled to a point where it is soft but still give a little bit of a bite). Of course in a place called Al Dente, you have to try the pasta, which by Central standards, was surprisingly cheap (under $100). The pasta was good quality and cooked to al dente and the portions were sizeable. Although the staff did manage to botch our booking for three people, they were friendly and attentive.

Then it was onto 1/5 where my mate is doing a part-time gig with some other heavy-hitting DJ’s (okay, he’s the amateur in the crowd so he’s shitting bricks I hear). They are packaging the series of DJ sessions under the name of Superfly and promises to be bringing you the best funk tunes in Hong Kong (was that possible?). However, last night wasn’t the launch although it was the first night of playing. I just hope they gain some momentum as the series continues. Maybe Azumi can enlighten me to the heavy hitting dj’s that will be playing there?
