Christ's crucifixion occuring on a Friday and there being thirteen disciples at the Last Supper only served to reinforce the "unlucky" associations of the two combined. But as you pointed out, a day is unlucky only when you believe in it and give power to it by going out of your way to observe only "bad" things/incidents on that one day, isn't it? So I don't need the validation of someone else to feel good about myself. Valentine's Day is for people chasing after girls and new couples. When I was in a relationship, I always did something, but to be honest, you have the other 354 days to prove you love someone. So why would Valentine's Day be my worst? Except with you rubbing it at every opportunity. As I said, you give days, people, things power over you only if you let them. I’m at a place where I’m no longer insecure about being by myself.
