December 22, 2003 Baked Beans and Soup
That’s another problem about have screwed up hours. For me, I tend to distort my meal times and I forgot to eat something before I came back from my meeting this evening, so I ended up not eating dinner (the earlier “dinner” was actually breakfast or lunch). So while I’m reading my book I’m getting a little hungry. So I decide to delve into my “Typhoon Stash” which was basically designed to last me a week of typhoon whether. (Not really understanding that a typhoon may last only two days, I naively stockpiled canned and dried foods to last me a week).
So it was that I came upon a can of condensed minestrone soup and a can of baked beans. These actually provide quite a filling meal at 3 am in the morning. You’d be surprised how filling a small 200g can of beans can be and the only thing I’m lacking is toast. The two giant Toblerone bars are great too since I’m using each junk to provide me with nourishment too.
It’s surprising how the cold weather sends my mind back into the “hunt for energy” mentality. I think it’s cause of those piss cold summer nights with drizzling rain I spent at one army cadet camp on Dartmoor and one of the coldest winters I spent in the UK with absolutely no money to buy food. Good ol’ baked beans…will make me fart though tomorrow.
