Just finished off a burger from Al’s Diner. I’ve been having quite a few burgers lately. Well, food from these American style places. Yes, yes, goes against my principles, but hey, they have some pretty cool foods even if it is unhealthy for you. Anyway, I’ve noticed that when you get coleslaw in HK you get it in these small little pots that barely gives you a taste of the actual coleslaw.

Why are they so stingey with the coleslaw? Is there national shortage of coleslaw, where we are all rationed to 50mg of coleslaw per day? Is coleslaw on par with lobster in the UK, that including it is just to give you the briefest tastes and let you believe you’re eating something luxurious? Is coleslaw contraband where the restauranteurs are secretly delivering people their fix of coleslaw under the guise of American cultural values wrapped up in a hamburger?

I’m sure HK people will be shocked to find that elsewhere in the world they have coleslaw mountains. They have tubs of the damned stuff. They pile it on plates so much so that the slaw (or is it the cole that’s the sauce?) contaminates all else in the dish.

I mean its not hard to make, is it? So why isn’t there more coleslaw out there?
