December 15, 2003 Yet Another Website Redesign (YAWR)
Yes, I succumbed to the temptation of redesigning my website. It’s been redesigned a little better this time. On the design side, it’s a little more mature and I wanted to get rid of the Matrix overtones of the last design. The information is a more logically organised than before too, making it easier to find the right information. Also I’m using this new font I acquired “mini” which is used by a lot web designers to display fonts at smaller pixel sizes with better resolutions.
On the coding side, I’ve switched to pMachine too since it had a more complete package to offer and the way the templates were managed was also a little smoother. Trust me, if you have enough pages and sections, every little helps and reducing the number of clicks in the processes you do to get your material published is a good thing.
It’s also the first proper use of CSS that I’ve had and while I haven’t managed to do anything too nifty on this site, it’s opened my eyes to a world of opportunity.
The only drawback from the MT to pMachine script was that it screwed up the comments for each entry. This meant that I had to patiently go through each of the entries and delete entries that were in the wrong place. pMachine lacks a nice “power” editing mode like MT, which meant each entry had to be dealt with individually. That’s so far the only drawback I’ve encountered, so I’m hopeful I made the right move.
Anyway, no more site designs in the near future. Just a little tweaking here and there.

Looks good. much better than before. Now when you find out which css element controls the message “Notify me when someone replies to this post? ” at the bottom of the comments then let me know
p.s. did u intentionally leave the requirement to register in order to leave a comment?

Thanks. I’m still trying to find what exactly controls that element. It was bugging me the whole of yesterday.
Nope, I forgot to change that back when I reinstalled pM after I forgot the password.
