They finally got him. At least the American’s have shown they aren’t completely incompetent. I guess Saddam forgot to pay his rent and board at the Whitehouse. Maybe he had to shack up with Osama in the next room. Sorta explains the dodgy beard.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m as jubilant as the next man about Saddam’s capture but I wasn’t out for his blood in the first place. I was interested in those small little WMD that threatened world peace and the stability of civilisation as the US knows it. We now have the tyrant of Baghdad in chains, do you think he’d mind answering a few questions before you violate his human rights? I’d like his interrogation and trial to happen in public, in the eyes of the skeptics, critics and supporters alike. I’m dreaming when I hope for in camera proceedings. Honesty seems to be a rare a currency as diamonds these days.

The point is that the US’s shit needs to smell cleaner than Laura Bush’s rose garden. It needs to prevent Saddam from becoming a martyr for the anti-American ’cause, which with those current buffoons in power in Washington, is all the world needs. Hopefully the Americans can handle this with discretion, to prevent young Muslims around the world wanting to sign-up for the dubious honour of suicide bombing people. But somehow I doubt it. Discretion is to the American mindset as grease is to water.

Anyway, the capture should be celebrated in any case. It brings our troops home from this foolish US endeavor that bit closer. But depending on how the US administration, led by the Nazi-spawn Bush, handles Saddam’s capture, we may all be in for a rough ride whether we be in Iraq or not. One tyrant down, and another one in Washington to go…
