I’ve had a lovely day. Something that should have been handled with discretion was handled in the wrong way. It backfired in my face as a result. I love that when that happens. Anyway, it wasn’t intentional from the people I was in contact with but somewhere the wrong impression was given to other people. Regrettable though it is, it salvagable although I’d rather not be in a situation where I would have to salvage it after all. Anyhow, such is life.

I got a brief reprieve from losing my job in Hong Kong. A possibility was explored to keep me on but at the end of the day it didn’t work out. I might not have taken the opportunity but thankfully, I didn’t have to take that decision. I guess its clear that there is no space for me here anymore.

Which leads me to my decision on a possible move to Singapore. The opportunity is there and now I think I will be putting things in motion to take that opportunity. The package on the table isn’t the best short term wise, but long term wise it has potential either if I stay in the advertising industry or in if I decide to go into an Internet related field. A lot of people have been telling me that it won’t be able to cover my lifestyle and so forth, but to be honest with you, if the situation isn’t there for money, then what choices do we have to dictate the lifestyle we live? Beggars can’t be choosers as they say… I’ll just have to adapt to that lifestyle. Besides, as I said, the financial pay off is outweighed by the experiential payoff.

So, tomorrow I’m off to try and win that post in Singapore. I’m hoping I’ll be back in Hong Kong but I’ll not let that diminish the excitement and adventure that awaits me down there. Oh, if any of you want to talk me out of going to Singapore, it’ll be too late by the end of tomorrow.
