I bought some new CD’s these past few days, a mixture of VCD’s and audio CD’s. I’m in a Korean movie phase at the moment so I bought a whole bunch of those. I also found a VCD of this chilling but compelling film called Red Cherry. It’s a Chinese production about two Russian kids caught up in Moscow at the outbreak of WW2. I’ve already seen it and I’ll be reviewing it later in the Reviews section, but I think it was a hard film to track down although now I see that Amazon has it for sale.

I also bought the new Cheng Sau Man CD and the Yumiko CD. I hadn’t realized that the Sammi CD was in Mandarin. I’m not that hot on Mandarin songs as they tend to put me to sleep; I think it’s the shw-shue faerie like nature of the language. I prefer Cantonese as it’s harsher and stronger. It’s a little like my feelings about German and Dutch. Having said that I like Sun Yan Zi, but she most of the songs I like from her showcase her powerful voice and at least some powerful emotions in the melody. I reckon. Yumiko was mostly bought to indulge my desire but also to see if she can actually sing.
