Well, another depressing day draws to a close. Today I had the privilege of not really being fired but actually fired. From the way things look, my company won’t extend my contract past the end of December unless I suddenly become a rainmaker. It means I have to start landing some big-buck paying research projects to help tick me over.

Yeah, right. I’ve suddenly become a one-man research agency within an advertising agency. I’m feeling so far removed from the advertising industry than ever before that I’m feeling this career path is at an end. At least within this area of the industry. I’m seriously considering a change in discipline. But it’s not something to be done lightly, and I’ll have to think long and hard about it. I’m on my way out in Hong Kong by the looks of things.

Just when I started to get settled. I guess I’m more of a vagabond than I really wished for.
